Marta Topferova, „Flor Nocturna”
bossa nova
2007-05-26

„Don't let the name fool you, the husky-voiced Topferova is a top-flight singer who offers a mellow and sensual take on the South American folk music tradition.” Village Voice.
She got acquainted with the music of Latin America at the age of 8 through the Chilean friends of her parents. This proved to be determinant in forming her own style and developing her solo career at the age of 15.
After graduating from the Bard College she moved to Spain, to Moron de la Frontera, where, beside improving her singing technique, she also learned to play the guitar and her favorite instrument, the four-string cuatro.

In 1996 she moved to New York, where she soon appeared on the stages of the most well known clubs of the city with her band, and with other bands such as Lucia Pulido, Fiesta De Tambores, Los Acustilocos, Flamenco Latino. She soon captivated the audience in North and South America, and also the audience of the most well known festivals and concert halls in Europe.
